Claybury Main Hall, circa 1970.  The hall has now been converted to a gym with the chapel as the swimming pool.  The ceiling is listed and the interior has been kept as is.  Photo courtesy of Eric Pryor, sold originally as a postcard to staff.

Claybury Admin Block, circa 1970.  The admin has since been converted to housing and is in a gated community.

 

The corridors at Claybury where massive, patients were employed to keep them clean.  During bad weather they were known to be used for recreation, at other times, patients would run the corridors for exercise.

 

The airing court shelter of the wards mention above, all of the shelters at Claybury have been restored in line with the conversion.

The nurses home, demolished in the 90's.

 

At the peak of patient population, the kitchen would have prepared food for 2500 patients and staff.

 

Claybury Admin Block Entrance, the only change in conversion is the addition of carpet to the stairs and the removal of the signs above the entrance.
